Jordan Taylor is going home.
Taylor, who spent the past four years with Corvette Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, is returning to Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport, where he will compete in the GTP class next year.
Meanwhile, Alexander Sims is moving from Cadillac Racing’s GTP car to Corvette Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD Pro class in 2024, replacing veteran Taylor.
Both teams announced 2024 driver rosters on Thursday.
Sims becomes part of a four-driver full-time GTD Pro lineup at Corvette Racing, along with returnees Antonio Garcia, Tommy Milner and Nicky Catsburg. The actual pairings for the two-car team has yet to be announced.
“We’re very pleased with the full-season IMSA lineup in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R for 2024,” said Mark Stielow, director, Chevrolet Motorsports Competition Engineering. “The four drivers have exceptional records and history with Corvette. At the same time, we thank Jordan Taylor for his years of service and success with General Motors. He has been an important part of Corvette Racing and a great ambassador for Chevrolet. We wish him well.”
Taylor spent four seasons with Corvette Racing and won a pair of GT championships and scored a class win at the Rolex 24. He will co-drive WTRAndretti’s Acura ARX-06 car with Louis Deletraz in the GTP class. WTRAndretti’s second entry will again be driven by Jordan’s brother Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque.
“I am looking forward to having Jordan back in our home stable after his great career with Corvette,” team owner and father Wayne Taylor said in a release. “It was a natural for us since he and his brother drove together with our team and the Cadillac DPi program.”
