The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 makes 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque and looks totally rad. There’s really no reason to not have one—oh, except for that $110,000 price tag that pretty much kills that dream for most. Newsflash: Ford’s trusty 5.0-liter V-8 can make that kind of horsepower, too. Ford Performance Parts makes a supercharger kit for the 2021-2023 F-150 5.0-liter V-8 that’s good for 700 hp. Even better, a new Ford Performance FP700 package, in bronze or black, now bundles that supercharger with some extra style.
The F-150 FP700 Black Edition (M-F150-FP700B) and F-150 FP700 Bronze Edition (M-F150-FP700BR) both retail for $12,350.00. The bulk of that price ($9,500.00, non-package price) is the Gen 5x 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger (M-6066-F150SCA) that ups the 5.0-liter’s factory 400 hp and 410 lb-ft to 700 hp at 6,500 RPM and 590 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 RPM. It’s CARB certified 50-state legal and comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty when installed properly.
The other $2,850 (although pricing within the package isn’t itemized) in the FP700 Package throws in tailgate lettering (bronze or black), fender vent kit, black lug nut kit, carpeted floor mat set, black painted grille, FPP slim license plate frame, bedside graphics (bronze or matte black), 22-inch wheels (bronze or black machined face), FP700 interior badge, and F-150 rear lowering kit. The difference between the Bronze and Black Editions are the bronze and black colors, with the specific instances noted in parenthesis.
The Bronze Edition and Black Edition FP700 packages apply to XL, XLT, Lariat and Platinum-trimmed 2021-2023 F-150s (with the 5.0-liter V-8, of course) in all cab configurations (minus the 8-foot bed and Pro Power Onboard). We don’t see Tremor (which gained the 5.0-liter as standard for 2023) or King Ranch listed.
The FP700 Package on an XL 5.0-liter could be the best bang for the buck. That’s a base-trim F-150 with Raptor R horsepower and a dose of extra flair, and for that, we thank Ford Performance.
