Although the Prologue will be based on the Chevrolet Blazer EV and be built in GM’s Ramos Arizpe, Mexico plant, there will be key differences between the two models. Honda announced its SUV will have the Google built-in infotainment system standard, and support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a big change from the Blazer EV, which will not have CarPlay. In an interview with MotorTrend, Raj Manakkal, assistant vice president of digital services at Honda and Acura, said the automaker is always looking for the best user experience, and having CarPlay and Android Auto on their cars is a testament to that thinking.
Honda will debut its own electric architecture, dubbed e:Architecture EV, in 2026, but will continue with GM’s partnership to develop affordable EVs planned for 2027. Honda hasn’t announced what vehicles will be based on its own platform, but the automaker will launch 30 new EVs by 2030 globally.
