Rolls-Royce and its division in Dubai are all smiles as they introduce The Pearl Cullinan. This is a one-of-a-kind custom Cullinan created to celebrate a significant birthday and to be gifted by the owner’s family. This is also the first bespoke Cullinan to be modified by the company’s new Private Office Dubai center and it has been created in collaboration with local dealer partners.
The Pearl Cullinan project kicked off in early 2022, ordered by a devoted Rolls-Royce customer who wanted to mark his father’s 90th birthday in style. High-ranked executives from the brand met with the father to get to know his life story and passions. This meeting served as the creative spark that guided the entire project.
The luxury SUV depicted above boasts a unique Bespoke Pearl Rose finish, inspired by the color of the owner’s most treasured pearl. This paint is exclusive to this vehicle and has an enchanting hint of pink, making it a true standout. Achieving this perfect finish wasn’t a walk in the park, as it involved around 30 different attempts, each tested in daylight simulations and under the Middle Eastern sun to ensure it was spot on. They even put it through rigorous technical tests to make sure it could withstand the heat and UV light.
To complement the Pearl Rose finish, there’s a single hand-painted coach line in Rose Gold, matching the rose gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy mascot. This elegant touch continues to the Bespoke treadplates, which greet you as you open each door.
Step inside The Pearl Cullinan – probably something that only family members will have the privilege to do – and you’ll find a blend of two different leather colors. The front seats, where apparently the birthday celebrant prefers to sit as a passenger, are decked out in Cashmere Grey. In a nod to the family’s connection to pearls, the rear seats are wrapped in Ardent Red, inspired by the hue of the material used to showcase pearls. Even the burr walnut veneer is reminiscent of the wooden boxes that pearls are traditionally presented in.
Embroidery details feature RR monograms in Rose Gold thread on the headrests, and the rear seat inserts are inspired by the symmetrical patterns found on oyster shells. These details are angled at the same precise 55 degrees as the veneer.
The Cullinan is one of the products in the automotive industry that get the highest amount of special edition versions. Or, rather, one-offs such as the Cullinan Blue Shadow Edition unveiled in May this year. In December last year, the luxury SUV made an appearance at Art Basel in fashion-inspired colors.
