What did we get for the 2024 Camaro send-off? Well, the coolest thing we got was the use of the Panther name! Yep, back in 1966, before it was christened Camaro, the new F-body was going to be called Panther. No yellow color like we wrote about, but there are some special colors in honor of the Panther badge. For the SS, a black metallic, and a matte black for the ZL1. Yeah, there are aero bits, but they are just parts swiped from the ZL1/1LE. So, true to history, the 2024 leaves us with a special edition consisting of colors, stickers, and a few trinkets. Oh, and you get a cool bespoke Canfield watch. Do the younger folk out there even know how to read the hands on a watch? Still, it’s not an LT5 and most certainly not a Z/28. So, while we didn’t pull off a Nostradamus and predict the Panther name would be used, we at least nailed the special-color-and-trinkets guess. We can only wonder about the wild future speculation on the seventh-gen Camaro. Smog-legal 632 big-block Z/29 Panthermaro with hybrid helper motors and AWD?
