Following the A50, the A60 Celica (also known as the MkII Supra) came in 1982. And it had pop-up headlights!
That’s not all, though. The A60 underwent basically a complete redesign from the A40 and A50, wearing new sheet metal and a far more aerodynamic design. It had a longer wheelbase, a wider front end, and bigger wheel arches. Hardware included an independent rear suspension, the 2.8-liter 5M-GE twin-cam straight-six, and a digital instrument panel with the inclusion of “Navicom.”
