Like all good sports cars, the Project V starts out rear-wheel drive (although an all-wheel drive version might come later), with a single e-motor mounted to the rear axle. That motor is good for 200 kW of power, or 268 horsepower, and it’s energized by a 55-kWh lithium-ion battery pack the company claims can recharge from 20 to 80 percent capacity in 15 minutes at 150 kW DC charging. Three drive modes are available: Normal, Sport, and Sprint, and the car comes with a thermal management system for the battery pack. Caterham believes it could get up to 249 miles of estimated range on the (generous) European WLTP cycle.
