Apple’s in-car CarPlay infotainment system is pretty good as it is, with millions of users opting to follow their phone’s digital application interface instead of the in-house, bespoke systems designed by car companies for their new vehicles. Apple CarPlay often responds quicker, has more dedicated driving features, and seamlessly integrates with a driver’s smartphone. Meanwhile, most other vehicle systems require tricky Bluetooth connections, wired connections, or lack the available features and apps that CarPlay offers. Porsche is now the first to make a major improvement to CarPlay, though, by allowing more access to certain vehicle features from the main CarPlay menu.
