Many at Ferrari thought the two Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 Hybrids, third and fifth on the grid, hadn’t shown their full pace during qualifying, and were keenly aware the highly experienced Japanese team had won the past five 24 Hour races. The Penske Porsche 963s, fourth, seventh and ninth on the grid, had looked quick on their long runs during testing. Beyond that, just finishing would be an achievement. “We know at Le Mans anything can happen,” said Alessandro Pier Guidi, lead driver in the number 51 Ferrari.
