The most worrying problems for Tesla appear to be in braking and chassis tuning, two automotive engineering steps that typically occur early in a vehicle’s development cycle. According to Wired, Tesla engineers were aiming for a score of 7 out of 10, or “fair,” on the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) rating scale. The leaked report, however, indicates the Cybertruck scored a 4, or “poor,” in testing due to excessive brake pedal travel, brake dive, and inconsistent stop. Handelsblatt reports the leaked document notes that Tesla customers would likely be “very dissatisfied” with the Cybertruck’s braking behavior.
